Jimmie Leroy Carpenter

Charlotte & Jimmie Carpenter

Jimmie Leroy Carpenter went home to spend Christmas with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday night, Dec. 21, 2008, surrounded by his loving wife of 34 years, his three loving children and their spouses, along with other family and friends.

Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Kennedale. Interment: Brown Cemetery in Aledo. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Jimmie's honor to First Baptist Church of Kennedale's Multi-Purpose Building Fund, Box 295, Kennedale, Texas 76060.

Jimmie was a devout member of First Baptist Church of Kennedale and dedicated his time to whatever service was needed. He was a member of Deer Creek Masonic Lodge of Everman for 40 years. Jimmie spent his life doing what he loved most -- fishing and hunting. He retired from Western Electric in September 1990 after 35 years of service.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, C.B. and Josephine Clepper of Baytown and Jimmie Levi Carpenter of Marshall; brothers, Vernon Virgil and Robert Reynolds; and his hero, Luther J. Wood.

Survivors: His adoring wife and fishing buddy, Charlotte; his daughter, Andrea Kay Ober and her husband, Ronnie, of Mineral Wells; his sons, Chuck Carpenter and wife, Dean, of Fort Worth and Kyle Fletcher and his wife, Letha, of Kennedale; granddaughter, Jody Mara of Fort Worth; grandson, Cody Carpenter of Fort Worth; sister, Mable Anderson of Baytown; loving mother-in-law, Loweda Wood (Meme) of Aledo; and many dearly loved extended family members and friends.
