My new husband was stationed at the Air Force Base. My 16 year old sister came to visit me and I ask Louie to please hire her as well. He said as long as I train her. So the rest is history. I was 18 and my sister was 16 and alot of fun days! It was really great to just have a job! Well I really loved that job and they had a great menu, very diversified. The food was very good! Breakfast, lunch and dinner. American and Mexican food!
Of course Louie is long gone by now because I am now 63. It's been about 47 years ago. I wish I could find another jewel like it to eat.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03613781570589850473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2321483528294309796.post-90167179440828198882021-12-21T07:43:20.341-05:002021-12-21T07:43:20.341-05:00I worked there in 1977 wow this brings back memori...I worked there in 1977 wow this brings back memories!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03613781570589850473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2321483528294309796.post-16861203451397262442021-03-29T16:06:20.311-04:002021-03-29T16:06:20.311-04:00Hello. If memory serves me, I believe the drive-in closed in the late 80s. I know it was still operational in 1981 when I was a senior in college. The structure is still there, and the last time I noticed, it was an antique store.

The second part of my surprise, is that I know miss Paula Hanna. I am a designer too and Paula and I have worked on a project together.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2321483528294309796.post-15555060645361075042011-07-18T22:40:37.170-04:002011-07-18T22:40:37.170-04:00Judith,

I'm sure they will be shocked to find that you've found an image of the inn.

I've rescanned the postcard as a TIFF file at 300 dpi and changed the image size in Photoshop to 10" x 6". I wasn't successful in emailing it as a TIFF file but can put it on a CD if you would like me to mail it to you.

I've also changed it to a JPEG file and am emailing it under my husband's address since mine will not hold as much. It will be coming to you under bobshub@charter.net. I was hoping for a little luck when I typed in "Red Rooster Alamogordo" into Google for an image search. I was THRILLED to find your postcard! See my Mom and Dad are having their 50th wedding anniversary this year, and they met at the Red Rooster Drive In.

My two sisters and I were hoping to do something really special for them for their anniversary, and since I'm a graphics designer, I was hoping to include some posters with images from their past. Is there any way I could get you to rescan the postcard at a higher resolution and email it to me? I know you don't know me from Adam, but I am SO excited to learn of someone who has kept that postcard all these years.

I don't know how much you know about computer resolution, but currently, your picture is 300 dots per inch (dpi) at 3x5" or 72 dpi at 13x22". I am really hoping you can send me an image that is maybe around 6x10" at 300 dpi. If this is all too complicated, don't worry about it, but I would consider it a real favor if you could.

At any rate, thanks SO much for your time. AND your grandmother's postcard. It was nice to write to you!

Sincerely yours,
Paula Hanna
Lubbock, TexasPaula Hannanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2321483528294309796.post-11913149201649482442009-04-03T17:53:00.000-04:002009-04-03T17:53:00.000-04:00I love that postcard.
