I recently was contacted by Christy Bellah, PEACH Cataloging Librarian of the Weatherford Public Library who said she had just come across my blog. Finding that I have a lot of family ties to Parker County on my blog, she thought I would be interested in hearing about an exciting project at the library. They recently received a grant to allow them to digitize and make accessible online, historic documents, photos and oral histories relating to Parker County history.
As Dale Fleeger, Director WPL stated, "Weatherford Public Library (WPL) has long been one of the repositories of books, documents, pictures and other collections of family, city and county histories. Now with a grant WPL received we will move the preservation of these materials from traditional to next generation – digitizing these items for long term storage. The grant will also allow the library to catalog each item and make these items available to the public through the library’s public access catalog."
To learn more about PEACH and this exciting project, contact the Weatherford Public Library at 817.598.4160.
The PEACH Project is made possible by a grant from the U. S. Institute of Museums and Library Services (IMLS) to the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) under provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA)

What exciting news!
It is very exciting, Dorene. The staff that presented the project and shared the plans for the coming year were obviously excited and eager to get started.
Hello Judy,
The Branches on our Tree button has changed URL. Hope you will go back and delete the old and add the new. Thank you for following my blogs. You may even have to rejoin. I'm not sure. Great news about the Library!
